International Fashion Week Catania

The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers coordinates and promotes the development of art in a broad sense and fashion in all its facets in Italy and abroad. Absolute priority of The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers is to enhance, promote and support the emerging talents of the creative class by creating initiatives and events that take into account the new generation, offering opportunities for comparison, training, professional growth and visibility, as its motto is: New Generation”. It’s important to invest in the enhancement of young talent and to link craftsmanship and culture, tradition and innovation. Only with the strengthening of commitment in the present time, in fact, is it possible to foster and hope for the growth of future generations. The project was born from the idea of expanding the osmosis between the world of fashion, art and culture. Fashion is an incredible productive driving force and can be a resource to boost youth employment. It’s inspiration, creativity, intuition, but also organization, strategy, management and these seemingly conflicting components must coexist and amalgamate to ensure the success of an entrepreneurial idea. Fashion is also a social, environmental and economic factor that manages to unite different worlds, such as creativity and consumption. We all know that Italian fashion has always been important , not only for the work done by our great designers, but for the quality and preciousness of the manufactures. As in all fields the future is young people, it is therefore good to make sure that this sense of craftsmanship of real “manufacturing art” is not lost. Fashion is not only a fundamental lever for the development of the territory but also a great element of attraction. The Chamber, therefore, wants to promote young designers, giving them the opportunity to make themselves known by coming into contact with the Made in Italy design landscape. So a winning idea that wants to help realize the dreams of many young creative contributing to support Italian productivity. The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers was also created to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focusing on the Made in Italy that produces the niche product handcrafted and that follows a chain that consists of processes and materials produced exclusively in Italy. This is to give an added value to our companies and create with them a commercial center that is aimed at a market that seeks in the product quality and the true Made in Italy.

The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers has set itself the bold task of establishing the “INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK” as an Italian and international event to give resonance to a city, Catania, that venerates style and open-mindedness to new trends. A new face that carries with it the burden of tradition Made in Italy and merchandise of new trends. A continuous landing of ideas, mix of allegories and concept fashions mean that Catania must have the privilege of Haute Couture events that would bring under the lights of the catwalks the great elegance, proclaiming a secret fashion gala week where you can give vent to the unbridled creativity as you breathe in the streets of the city. Why then a fashion week? Catania is a point in the world where many seas, many traditions, all echo one emotion: the wonder in front of the scenery. And how can we not make even more impact a fashion event, where Blogger, parades in the most evocative location of the city, would make the event more scenic? This would guarantee an extra flair, a look of curiosity and desire to travel overseas. The Italian style is popular, and those who are on the other side of the world expect a place of attraction like the city of Catania where to lock up fashion at 360. Fashion is “One Shot”, Catania “One Possibility”. “INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK”, now in its fifth edition, every year, creates multiple opportunities to meet the historical Italian realities of fashion and the new international production and creative realities. INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND MADE IN ITALY, FASHION DESIGNER, NEW GENERATIONS are the 3 containers of an event that wants to enhance tradition and tailoring, cultural heritage and future with a focus on young talents of fashion, crafts and Made in Italy. After four editions held at the evocative Foyer Hall of the Cilea Theatre in Reggio Calabria, finding great appreciation, this year it was decided to organize the event in Catania, within the most evocative location of the city: Palazzo Biscari, a precious scenario during the prestigious event “International Fashion Week” that will take place Sunday, July 2, 2023. During the day there will also be photo shoots, interviews, red carpet, awards and the Golden Muse Award 2023.

Palazzo Biscari is one of the oldest and most important Palaces of Catania, precious testimony of Sicilian Baroque, home of Prince Ruggero Moncada. Its frescoed halls, full of charm and elegance, are a wonderful location to organize fashion shows, presentations of clothing collections, exhibitions of jewelry. Inside, in addition to the six hundred rooms, perhaps even a few more, there is the “party hall”, rococo style complex decoration made of mirrors, stucco and frescoes that will be the setting for the International Fashion Week 2023.
