he National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers coordinates and promotes the development of art in a broad sense and fashion in all its facets in Italy and abroad. Absolute priority of The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers is to enhance, promote and support the emerging talents of the creative class by creating initiatives and events that take into account the new generation, offering opportunities for comparison, training, professional growth and visibility, since its motto is: New Generations”. It’s important to invest in the enhancement of young talent and to link craftsmanship and culture, tradition and innovation. Only with the strengthening of commitment in the present time, in fact, is it possible to foster and hope for the growth of future generations. The project was born from the idea of expanding the osmosis between the world of fashion, art and culture. Fashion is an incredible productive flywheel and can be a resource for youth unemployment. It’s inspiration, creativity, intuition, but also organization, strategy, management, and these seemingly conflicting components must coexist and amalgamate to ensure the success of an entrepreneurial idea. Fashion is also a social, environmental and economic factor that manages to unite different worlds, such as creativity and consumption. We all know that Italian fashion has always been more important , not only for the work done by our great designers, but for the quality and preciousness of manufacturing. As in all fields the future is young people, it is therefore good to make sure that this sense of craftsmanship of real “manufacturing art” is not lost. Fashion is not only a fundamental lever for the development of the territory but also a great element of attraction. The Chamber, therefore, wants to promote young designers, giving them the opportunity to make themselves known by coming into contact with the Made in Italy design landscape. So a winning idea that wants to help realize the dreams of many young creative contributing to support Italian productivity.
NOTICE
The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers (CNGFD), as the Federation of Fashion Industry of UNSIC (National Union of Entrepreneurs and Growers), which also associates the companies of the fashion system intended to promote and support the national competition “NEW GENERATIONS”. The competition is aimed at young fashion designers graduated and/ or students at higher education, public or private, design, fashion and modeling, academies, fashion universities and professional schools. Young designers will have to make two “Haute Couture” or two “Pret a Porter” garments using their style, their inspiration and their creativity. Proposals will have to be presented in draft form. Two will be the finalists of the competition and will be awarded during the event International Fashion Week to be held, Sunday, July 2, 2023, in Catania.
METHOD OF PARTICIPATION
The application for registration for the competition must be submitted exclusively through the procedures provided for in the notice, listed below:

It must contain the following paper materials, listed below and a Powerpoint format of illustration of the stylistic project:
- 2 models proposed in the form of paper sketches (A4 format, size 21 × 30, on a white background). On the back of each draft must be reported the following data: the progressive number of the sketches, name and surname, address, telephone number, e-mail of the candidate.
- A featured photo exclusively in electronic format (.jpg).
- Copy of certificate of enrolment in current studies.
- Photocopy of an identity document.
- Detailed data sheet on the sketches, containing all the characteristics of the fabrics, any embroidery and any other useful details.
- Application form, attached to this notice, completed in all its parts.
- Curriculum vitae of the candidate.
- A description of the inspiration for the realization of the sketches.
- Authorization o participate signed by a parent or by a substitute (only for competitors who had not reached the age of majority on the date of dispatch of the application).
- All the requested material must be received no later than 25 May 2023 (THE POSTMARK WILL NOT BE AUTHENTIC).
- Materials that are incomplete or not in compliance with this notice of participation will not be taken into account and will be automatically excluded from the competition.
- The material sent will not be returned.
A Technical Committee, appointed by the National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, will select all the proposals received and, according to the regulation, will designate the 2 finalists that will be awarded during the International Fashion Week event that will take place on Sunday, July 2, 2023 in Catania and the 15 competitors destined to participate, free of charge, in the training course “FashionLab”. made by The National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers (CNGFD). The training activity will take place in September 2023, and within the first decade of August will be communicated the start date and the place where the training activity will be held. Specific Certificate of Participation and/or Profit will be issued to them by the Training Body chosen by the Association. Participation in the training course will be an integral part of the final phase of the Competition.
All participants in the Competition authorize and indemnify CNGFD from any responsibility at any time in the future to the use and publication without restrictions related to the storage, dissemination and publication of video-photographic materials.
The designations will be communicated directly to the interested parties and to the Institutes belonging to the selected competitors. Consequently, the two finalists must proceed to the packaging of the 2 garments selected by the Committee, at their own expense, faithfully respecting the sketches sent and paying close attention to the finishing touches. They must then be delivered and presented on the day of the event “International Fashion Week”. Models, makeup, wig and service for the winners will be prepared and made available by the organization.
The sending of the project and its components presupposes the implicit consent to the use by the National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers (CNGFD), for purposes of communication actions. For designated contestants is the commitment to report in their curriculum vitae and in the documents relating to each subsequent participation in fashion events their prerogative as finalists of the National Competition “NEW GENERATIONS” promoted and organized by National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers (CNGFD).
AWARDS
FIRST PRIZE a contribution for innovation and product creativity of 2,500.00 euro.
SECOND PRIZE a scholarship of 1.500,00 euro.
